Wellington, Feb 25 NZPA - Housing Minister Phil Heatley has called for a press conference at 11am with reports that he had been stood down by Prime Minister John Key.
The Stuff website reported today Mr Key cancelled a visit to Canterbury a part way into his itinerary.
Mr Heatley this week gave a teary apology and repaid around $1200 of taxpayers' money after wrongly putting personal expenses on his ministerial credit card.
He has also been under fire in the past for his accommodation allowances.
