Wellington, Oct 13 NZPA - The latest opinion poll has shown National bouncing back to record its highest levels of support in years.
The NZ Morgan poll showed support for National running at 57.5 percent.
This was a 6 percentage points lift in support since the last poll which had recorded a 5 point drop to 51.5 percent.
Labour which had jumped up to 33.5 percent in the last poll slumped 5.5 percentage points to 28 percent.
The Greens were down 1 point to 6.5 percent, Maori Party unchanged on 2.5 percent, ACT down slightly to 1.5 percent and United Future on 1 percent.
Support for the Government was reflected in Morgan's confidence poll with a record high of 72 percent (up 4.5 percentage points) of people saying New Zealand is heading in the right direction.
The poll of 847 voters was conducted between September 21 and October 4.
