Wellington, Feb 5 NZPA - Wellington journalist Nick Wang has again had an application for a visa to visit China rejected by the Chinese Embassy.

Wang said he wanted to visit his elderly parents in Inner Mongolia but he was denied entry and embassy officials refused to say why.

The Capital Chinese Times writer said his parents had been unwell and he should be allowed to visit them.

Wang has been critical of the Chinese government and has been denied entry into China in the past including in 2007 for the signing of the Chinese/New Zealand trade deal.

In 2007 he was also removed from Parliament by police when he tried to cover a meeting between the Chinese vice-premier and then finance minister Michael Cullen.

Wang said he would be returning to the embassy today to seek an explanation and is planning to protest outside the building if he is not granted entry into China.
