Wellington, March 6 NZPA - Veteran broadcaster Paul Holmes is returning to television current affairs as co-host of TV One's new Sunday morning political programme Q&A.

The new show, which replaces Agenda, will go to air on March 22 and will be presented by Holmes and TVNZ political editor Guyon Espiner and political analyst Therese Arseneau .

TVNZ's head of news and current affairs Anthony Flannery said the hour-long programme would be live and feature a political interview with Espiner, a long form interview with people involved in politics conducted by Holmes, and a panel debate moderated by Arseneau, a Canterbury University political scientist.

Agenda was produced by Front Page Ltd under a contract which was terminated by TVNZ in December.

Flannery said Agenda was funded through until the end of June, but that pool of money had been transferred to the making of Q & A.
