Wellington, June 19 NZPA - Six new MPs will visit Britain to learn about parliamentary practice and procedure in the House of Commons and the House of Lords, Speaker Lockwood Smith said today.
"The visit will be of immense value in helping the new members gain a deeper understanding of Parliament while developing enduring relationships with their peers in the United Kingdom," Dr Smith said.
The visit is at the invitation of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association's UK branch.
Amy Adams (National), Carol Beaumont (Labour), Kennedy Graham (Greens), Rahui Katene (Maori Party), Iain Lees-Galloway (Labour) and Michael Woodhouse (National) will be away for six days from June 21.
