Wellington, Nov 25 NZPA - Most New Zealanders have a "fairly good" understanding of consumer rights, a survey has shown.
Consumer Affairs Minister Heather Roy said tonight the survey asked 1000 people in face-to-face interviews about their understanding and awareness of consumers' rights and means of redress.
"It found New Zealanders have a fairly good understanding of consumer rights - particularly that they're entitled to have faulty goods repaired, replaced or have their money refunded," she said.
"It also showed that most people know to contact the seller when they have a problem and that the seller will usually do something to put it right."
