Wellington, May 28 NZPA - Mission On is gone under today's budget.
Government sport funding agency Sparc's funding for children and young people's lifestyles has gone from $15.7 million to nil.
However, the removal of money for Mission On, a package of initiatives aimed at improving children's nutrition and physical activity, is no surprise as National has long criticised the programme.
Among criticism was the $3.7m price tag for the Mission On websites.
Some money would be reprioritised to sport in schools.
Funding for high performance sport was maintained but listed as a separate output in the budget.
Overall Sparc got about $9m less.
