Wellington, Oct 21 NZPA - Corrections Minister Judith Collins says she is confident Department of Corrections staff had "got the message" no corruption would be tolerated.

Her comments follow a second Rimutaka Prison guard being arrested on drugs charges.

The guard was arrested on Monday morning.

Police said a 41-year-old man would appear in Wellington District Court on Friday charged with supplying cannabis.

In June this year senior prison manager Jeffery Mark Reid, 43, was arrested and charged, along with three prisoners and two women, following a month-long cannabis investigation by the department.

Ms Collins would not talk about a case that was before the court but said the department was working closely with police.

The public could have confidence allegations were being dealt with, she said.

"Any suggestion of corruption, any complaints that come to my office, which they do from time to time, goes immediately to the professional standards unit in Barry Matthews' (Corrections chief executive) office and they are investigated -- and you can see the results of that."

Upper Hutt's Rimutaka Prison is New Zealand's largest prison and can hold up to 1038 male low and high risk prisoners. It employs about 570 staff.
