An opinion poll released today shows a significant increase in support for Labour, and National's lead has been reduced to just 6.5 percentage points.

Yet another poll has shown National maintaining a large but shrinking lead over Labour. The New Zealand Herald/DigiPoll shows a 13.7 percent gap between the two major parties compared to the 24.6 point difference seen in the same poll in July.

Prime Minister Helen Clark says she is pleased by another poll that shows Labour closing the gap on National. A TV3/TNS poll last night had Labour up 2 percentage points to 37 percent and National steady on 48 points.
