Govt approves Auckland's council controlled organisations

Wellington, July 6 NZPA - Cabinet has signed off the final structure of Auckland's council controlled organisations, Local Government Minister Rodney Hide says.
Mr Hide said it had endorsed the Auckland Transition Agency's recommendations to have a structure made up of seven substantive council controlled organisations, with oversight provided by a committee of the Auckland Council.
The seven substantive council controlled organisations would include a statutory entity, Auckland Transport, and Watercare.
