Former Green And Prominent Nat Appointed To Boards

Wellington, July 28 NZPA - A former Green MP and a prominent National Party member have been appointed by the Government to arts related boards.

Arts Minister Chris Finlayson announced today he had appointed Wira Gardiner to the Te Papa board.

Mr Gardiner is seeking a place on the National's ruling council at the party's conference this weekend.

Mr Gardiner is married to National MP Hekia Parata.

Mr Finlayson appointed former Green MP Nandor Tanczos to the Creative New Zealand Board.

Michael Bassett, a former arts minister in the fourth Labour government, was also appointed to the board of Te Papa.
