Wellington, July 27 NZPA - Former Prime Minister Helen Clark says its too early for a biography about her.
Denis Welch has written an unauthorised biography Helen Clark: A Political Life.
"They sent me a copy but I didn't agree to be interviewed for it," Miss Clark told Breakfast on TV One.
"I actually think it's much too early to do any sort of proper retrospective view on what I achieved in those nine years and what the government did, so I will await a serious history."
In his book Welch says Miss Clark holds grudges. "She has the memory of an elephant, and never forgets a name, a face, or a grievance."
Breakfast host Paul Henry, who once unsuccessfully stood for the National Party, was scathing of Miss Clark during her time in office.
Today he said her agreeing to be interviewed showed she did not hold a grudge for long.
"It shows I get over them fairly quickly," Miss Clark said.
