Wellington, March 16 NZPA - Children's Commissioner Cindy Kiro is in hot water over the early release of a report showing New Zealanders have a high tolerance for violence.
Education Minister Anne Tolley told a summit on student behaviour in Wellington today she was disappointed Dr Kiro had released the report on bullying in schools on the eve of the event, Radio New Zealand reported.
They study rated New Zealand schools among the worst in the world for bullying.
Dr Kiro should have presented the report to the summit in person, Mrs Tolley said.
It was attempt to shape the summit, she said, adding the focus should be on developing an action plan to address a whole range of behaviour.
