Vista Entertainment Solutions Ltd has won the Supreme prize at the New Zealand 2012 AmCham DHL Express Success & Innovation Awards.
First winning their category 'Exporter of the Year to the USA $500,001 - $5m', Vista went on to take away the' Supreme Award' against an impressive group of highly successful New Zealand companies the diversity of which ranged from water, to wine, to energy technology.
The company's decision to significantly increase its penetration of the vast US cinema market was marked by the opening of the Vista US office in 2009. This was a carefully conceived move by the company. As CEO Murray Holdaway explains:
"From our strategic decision four years ago to focus on the US market opportunity, this led us to establish our own office and complete the UCLA GAP programme to fine tune our approach. We can now claim substantial success in what is the largest cinema market in the world. We have 21 staff in our US office, a fast growing business and we are in trial with Regal Cinemas - a cinema chain three times the size of Australia and New Zealand combined, and the largest in the world. This has been a great period of growth for our business."
Vista is particularly proud of its people who were enthusiastically acknowledged at the Awards presentation. The US operation is supported by an extensive team of software developers and services consultants based at the company's Auckland headquarters. "Onshore and off, our people operate as one team", said Mr Holdaway, "and my hat goes off to them."
For Vista, the Award is continued recognition of the leading position their cutting edge cinema software has forged worldwide. With offices and resellers across the globe and customers in 55 countries, the last three years has seen Vista profitability and staff numbers grow, and its value to the New Zealand economy has soared.
