Wellington, Nov 6 NZPA - Solid Energy chief executive Don Elder was elected chairman of the World Coal Institute at a meeting in Brussels.
He takes over from Preston Chiaro. Dr Elder has been a director of the World Coal Institute since 2003. He is also deputy chairman of the Coal Industry Advisory Board to the International Energy Agency.
The institute considers itself to be the voice of the international coal industry. It is based in London.
