Wellington, Aug 12 NZPA - Shayne Elliott, group managing director institutional for ANZ in Australia, has been appointed as a non-executive director of ANZ National Bank.

Mr Elliott is a New Zealander. Before joining ANZ he was head of business development for EFG Hermes, an investment bank in the Middle East.

Prior to that he spent 20 years working at Citigroup in various roles, including a stint as chief executive of the corporate banking in Australia and New Zealand based in Sydney.

Mr Elliott started at Citibank in Auckland in 1985. In 1992, he went to London to run the bank's European investor derivatives sales group.
