Wellington, Aug 13 NZPA - Ernie Newman is leaving industry lobby group the Telecommunications Users Association of New Zealand.

Chairman Pat O'Connell said the board had reluctantly accepted Mr Newman's resignation from the role of chief executive.

"Ernie has occupied the position since 1999. It goes without saying that we all owe him a huge debt of gratitude for his tireless efforts over the past 12 years," Mr O'Connell said.
