Wellington, May 21 NZPA - The company formed from the merger of eftpos technology firms Provenco Group and Cadmus Technologies is expecting to cut about 100 staff from its workforce.

The two companies shared many operating synergies, providing achievable cost savings as a result of the merger, Jim Doyle, chief executive of the entity now called ProvencoCadmus said.

A staffing review was under way, focusing on duplicated functions.

Redundancy numbers could not be confirmed until after the review process was finished.

For now it was anticipated staffing levels would be reduced by about 100 staff, about a quarter of the workforce, Mr Doyle said.

Staff were being consulted as part of the process and where positions were made redundant, support would be provided, including a career transition programme provided through an external specialist.
