Wellington, Jan 28 NZPA - Low cost Malaysian airline AirAsia X could soon be flying from Christchurch to Australia's Gold Coast.
Christchurch International Airport chief executive Jim Boult was seeking to confirm the airline would bring in a new route in the latter half of 2010, the Dominion Post reported.
If AirAsia X flew into Christchurch seven days a week it could boost Christchurch's economy by $70 million a year and bring up to 900 jobs to Canterbury region, he said.
