Wellington, Nov 24 NZPA - GE Capital, the financial services segment of the General Electric Company, has promoted the boss of its New Zealand and Australian business.

Steve Sargent, 49, has been appointed president and chief executive of GE Capital's business across Asia Pacific based in Tokyo.

Mr Sargent is president and chief executive of GE for Australia and New Zealand, including the GE Capital business.
