Wellington, Nov 5 NZPA - Fairfax Media is putting its New Zealand information technology and business titles together in a new unit headed by the founder of Infego Communications Ltd.

Fairfax has purchased Infego, which publishes business magazine Unlimited and youth title Actv8, for an undisclosed sum.

Infego founder Julie Gill has been appointed general manager of the new Fairfax Business Publishing unit, which will publish PC World, Computerworld, CIO and Reseller News, all publications that previously reported to Fairfax Australia. It will also publish The Independent, Unlimited and Actv8.

Fairfax said there would be some restructuring of staff, without giving details.
