Countdown is recalling the Abode 3 litre stainless steel deep fryer (model number DF30BW) sold at Countdown stores across New Zealand from 11 June 2012 to 9 July 2012.

The product is being recalled due to a potential safety hazard where the side handles may detach when the deep fryer is lifted.

This product poses a risk to consumers of oil spills and possible burn injuries if the appliance is moved while containing hot oil. No other products in the Abode product range are affected.

Customers are asked to immediately return this product to any Countdown store for a full refund.

Once removed from the packaging, this product can be identified by the Abode logo on the top of the control unit. The model number (DF30BW) can be found on the sticker on the rear of the control unit.
