Wellington, Sept 18 NZPA - The Commerce Commission has declined an application by two Todd companies in relation to access to the Maui gas pipeline in Taranaki.
The commission said its final determination today was consistent with its preliminary view in April.
The Todd Petroleum Mining and Todd Taranaki application related to rules under which access was opened to the Maui gas pipeline.
The pipeline competes with Vector's Kapuni North pipeline.
The commission said it had to decide whether competition would be lessened by the relevant provisions.
However, in this case there would be no lessening of competition if the relevant provisions were implemented because the Government would regulate the provisions if they were not implemented by the industry.
