Wellington, Sept 3 NZPA - More than 150 business people heard views from politicians of all persuasions at the Business NZ Election conference in Wellington today.

Business NZ chief executive Phil O'Reilly said the most spirited debate was in the session on infrastructure and energy.

Politicians were given "a fair go but not an easy go" by the business audience in an election year.

Speakers included Sir Roger Douglas, Rodney Hide, Sue Bradford, Kate Wilkinson, Jeanette Fitzsimons, Russel Norman, Michael Cullen, John Key, Bill English, David Parker, Gerry Brownlee and Trevor Mallard.
