BNZ Restructures Divisions, Blair Vernon Is Leaving

Wellington, June 26 NZPA - Bank of New Zealand is farewelling a senior strategy executive and restructuring its business and market orientated divisions.

Blair Vernon, general manager of strategy and marketing, is leaving on July 3.

The bank is combining its banking delivery services and strategy and marketing under the leadership of Stephen Mockett, who becomes chief operating officer on July 6.

"Blair has made a significant contribution to the bank during his 13 years with the bank and I have valued his counsel and support in the nine months I've been chief executive," BNZ chief executive Andrew Thorburn said.

BNZ is also combining its BNZ Capital and BNZ Partners into one business unit, the leadership of which is yet to be announced.

BNZ Capital comprises the bank's markets, research, corporate banking, financial and institutional business. BNZ Partners covers business, agri-business and private banking.
