Wellington, Aug 13 NZPA - The New Zealand dollar crashed through US69c today as Japanese investors offloaded the currency. The low of US68.25c in the domestic session was more than one and half cents below the US69.80c level at 8am. It struggled back to US68.82c at 5pm.

Wellington, Aug 13 NZPA - The New Zealand dollar traded below US69c in early afternoon trading. The kiwi, which floated at US44.44c in March 1985, hit US81.53c in February. It has been at near one year lows for several days and today in early afternoon trading it fell as low as US68.96c.
